Working Together: Teaching Collaboration and Cooperation through Visual Art

Use the visual arts to build skills for collaboration, communication, and responsible decision making. In this workshop, educators will consider potential areas of conflict when working in a group, brainstorm possible solutions, and participate in a collaborative art-making activity. Throughout the session, participants will consider the significance of creativity and its role in K-8 learning. Participants will leave with a renewed appreciation for the importance of creativity in an educational setting and with a creative strategy for engaging students in collaborative work.
