My Many Colored Days: Exploring the Expressive Qualities of Color through Mask-Making

SEL

Social-emotional skills are necessary prerequisites for academic learning. Students who are able to name their feelings in general education settings are better able to manage their emotions throughout the day and get the help they need if they are struggling. In this workshop, participants will explore the dynamic qualities of color and how they can be used to express an array of emotions. Participants will leave with tools to facilitate a rich classroom experience that integrates the visual art of mask-making with social emotional learning.
