Ms. King / Ms.Thornton / Ms. Johnson
2nd graders are learning about trickster tales.
Ms. King told a Native American story called The Coyote and the Turtle and students imagined the pictures in their heads.
They acted out the story and discussed the parts that stood out for them when the images of the story were live in front of them.
Then, they talked about how pictures communicate the important parts of a story, even if there are no words.
Each student got a section of the story, and they drew the most important parts of their section. Together, they illustrated the whole story.
