Family Night Feelings

ISL DIXON, K-2 | Emotion Wheels and Emotional Literacy

Paul Malbrough Jr

For the 2nd semester in a row, we did a Family Night Workshop at ISL Dixon centered on emotional exploration and literacy. With a packed house of families, we explored using and creating emotion wheels. The families joined us in exercises that helped them identify and explain specific emotions. We went over different ways to visualize emotions such as color, shape, font, and faces. All participants made their own personalized emotion wheels and most of the children came on stage to use their emotion wheels to express what emotions they were currently feeling.
