Mathematical Monologues

In this workshop, learn how to write fun math monologues where a character with a big personality frustratedly tries to figure out the math they need to solve a real-world problem. You will be able to lead your whole class in rehearsal of your math monologue, have clear guidelines on how to choose performers, and ensure everyone in class has multiple opportunities to go through the process of solving equations with imagination, movement, and emotion. Your students will enjoy performing your math monologues so much, they’ll soon ask to write and perform their own.
