From Connection to Comprehension

How can we engage students in rich artistic experiences in classrooms while also focusing on literacy development? This workshop will help teachers meet students where they are using seven Performance Cycle strategies (Building Community, Entering Text, Comprehending Text, Creating Text, Rehearsing/Revising Text, Performing Text, and Reflecting). The Performance Cycle will infuse classrooms with creative and innovative solutions to literacy struggles in today’s culture of accountability. It is possible to build arts integrated schools and meet state and national goals!
