Emily Chiarizio
Teaching Artist
Emily Chiarizio will be bringing visual arts experiences to the classroom this year. Since receiving a camera from her grandmother on her seventh birthday, Emily has loved photography. She studied film at the University of Pittsburgh, focusing on photography. She has worked with alternative photographic processes such as cyanotypes and salt printing along with traditional darkroom and digital photography. Over the past fifteen years, Emily has taught and led art activities as a preK-2 classroom teacher, after school director, and summer camp director. She recently completed a Masters in Language and Literacy through Lesley University. She enjoys collaging, drawing, watercolor painting, making comics, writing, visiting museums and taking long walks with her camera. With a deep belief that we are all artists, Emily is excited to share the joy of learning through art.
