Writing Together Workshop

  • KID smART 2533 Columbus Street New Orleans, LA, 70119 United States (map)

Writing Together focuses on how collective reading and writing can grow literacy skills for students of all development levels. In this workshop, learn steps to write an exemplar feelings journal then teach early childhood students to read it on their own.   Also, learn how to scaffold poetry writing in a supportive way so that your students feel confident writing on their own, and reading their poems to the class. Both literacy activities are designed with a foundation of social-emotional learning and expression. Don't miss this opportunity to enhance your teaching skills, empower your students, and connect with a community of passionate educators.

Dinner is provided, and participants will receive a $50 stipend for attendance. This workshop is most appropriate for out-of-school-time educators.

Dinner: 6:00-6:30 | Workshop: 6:30-8:00
