This project was interesting. We broke into groups of self identified boys and girls and worked on a problem. The most intriguing part of working on this project was observing the difference in genders upon receiving the directions of the activity. I noticed that the girls were much more in control of their bodies and able to delegate tasks within the group. There was much opportunity for growth in these two things within the boys group. I noticed that the girls were able to communicate around the problem, do scratch work, and name themselves as a group. The girls team flow working through the math was fluid and positive. It took the boys team’s conflict of tape distributor to help work through role assignments and then they were able to complete the task with inspiration from the girls final work.
