Celebrating a Decade of Creativity and Community at ART JAM

ART JAM, KID smART's annual family arts festival, recently marked its impressive 10th anniversary. This free event, held at the Andre Cailloux Center for Performing Arts and Cultural Justice on Bayou Road, brought together art enthusiasts of all ages for a day filled with creativity, workshops, and performances.

The venue's outdoor setting provided the perfect backdrop for a beautiful sunny day. Participants had the opportunity to engage in various artistic activities facilitated by eleven incredible cultural partners. The possibilities for artistic expression seemed endless, from collaborative collages to designing outfits, making buttons, and even writing books.

Performances from The Preservation Hall Brass Band, Make Music NOLA, Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra's Music for Life, and Blodie had us dancing and singing along. Interactive book readings by Tamisha Anthony and Monique Lorden brought stories to life, enchanting children and adults alike.

ART JAM wouldn't have been possible without the support of our sponsors, committee members, and dedicated volunteers. Their commitment to fostering a vibrant arts community and providing enriching experiences for all attendees was integral to the event's success. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to everyone involved.

One of the most remarkable aspects of ART JAM was witnessing the artistic inspiration that bloomed throughout the day. Participants of all ages reveled in the freedom to express themselves through various mediums. The atmosphere encouraged experimentation and celebrated the individuality of each artist.

It was a powerful reminder that there are no wrong answers in art—only endless opportunities for personal growth and creative exploration!

ART JAM's 10th anniversary was a resounding success, and we are proud to have provided a space for individuals to come together, express themselves, and forge meaningful connections. We're already counting down the days till next year's fest! We hope to see you there!
