ART- Helping Us Understand Our World!

ReNEW Schools: CBI Middle  | Multidisciplinary Art
Ms. Mia w/ Ms. Boyce  & Amazing students & support staff

Throughout the year, Students in Ms. Boyce’s class have been integrating the arts into their lessons to continually answer the essential question:

How does ART help us better understand the world around us?

We focused on using elements of collage, color, and sculpture to deepen our knowledge of fractions and their building blocks and were able to create a study guide for LEAP CONNECT testing. That hard work was chosen to be displayed at KID smART’s annual Art Exhibition and we recently went to see our art on display at Broadmoor Community ARTS & WELLNESS Center.

While on our field trip- we dug into the concept of “Art is in the eye of the beholder” and learned about LANDSCAPES, PORTRAITS, ABSTRACT ART, STILL LIFE, and more. From there, we used empty frames to explore the space and document how art shows up to us in our world. We then shared our photos to look for elements of art in what the students documented. Look through our pictures to find STILL LIFE,  PORTRAITS and MORE!
